Introduction

Norman Joplin has been in the Toy Soldier and Figure Hobby for over 30 Years both a collector and a dealer and was the founder of the British Toy Soldier and Figure show - Europe's largest Toy Soldier event held each year in London. As a regular attendee at the World famous Old Toy Soldier Show in Chicago, Norman has built an international reputation in the Toy Soldier world and has a vast network of contacts.



Britains Civilian Toy Figures
Norman Joplin has collaborated with Arnold Rolak, Philip Dean and Joe Kunzelmann to produce the most comprehensive book on Britains Civilian and non military lead figures.

Norman is the author of several toy soldier and figure books and is best known for his Great Book of Hollow Cast Figures reference work which is considered the definitive book on civilian and non military figures. His latest creation in conjunction with Don Pielin and Verne Johnson is American Dimestore Toy Soldiers and Figures - the first all color book to be published on "Dimestore figures."  His new book Britains Civilian Toy Figures is due for release in 2002 and will be an in-depth reference book covering all of Britains non-military products between 1893-1966.  There will be over 1100 color photos.  For details, contact Norman or e-mail him at info@normanjoplin.com.

Christies, for whom Norman worked during the nineties, employed him as consultant for both The Britains Archive and Malcolm Forbes collections auction sales.

Now an Independent Appraiser and valuer, Norman assists with auctions of Toy Soldiers and figures held in England by Vectis Auctions Limited and has recently been appointed consultant to Sloans of Miami and Washington.
